Environmental Project Manager

Lowham-Walsh Engineering & Environmental Services LLC in Lander, WY, a subsidiary of Ecology and Environment, Inc., is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager.  This position will support a broad range of natural resource projects.   Our successful candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental regulations, including NEPA, Wyoming Environmental Regulatory Act, State and Federal permitting, and environmental compliance. The candidate will also demonstrate experience with project management, project-related research and technical writing.


  • Manage multi-disciplinary teams and overseeing environmental studies including pre-disturbance and reclamation planning, erosion and sediment control, storm water management hydrological studies, biological and cultural resource assessments, and T&E surveys
  • Assist clients with project planning, data gathering, and permit writing
  • Oversee the NEPA process and preparing NEPA-related documents including EAs, EISs, state-level mine permits and notices, and SWPPPs
  • Engage in public involvement/community outreach efforts
  • Lead business development and proposal efforts including generating leads, assessing new markets, and developing new business opportunities through established contacts and networking



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resource Management, Planning or related discipline (Master’s Degree preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience including successful management of EAs and EISs on BLM and/or USFS land; experience with water resources (stream restoration) and environmental consulting preferred
  • Experience with public outreach and agency consultation
  • Knowledge of major federal statutes and implementing regulations, such as CWA, ESA, NHPA
  • Demonstrated ability with client relationship management, consultation, and funding acquisition
